Photography Ideas

Here are some of my initial ideas for some of the photographs I hope to take for my project.

For my fashion theme:

  • a low shot of a girl wearing sunglasses, turning round looking at the camera, set outside with a street backdrop. The low camera angle will give a sense of superiority to my subject, shown further through her choice of clothing and sunglasses that will show her attitude
  • a close up shot of a boy smoking a cigarette, with a backdrop of a brick/stone wall, again showing street life. The close up shot will still include the neck and hair of the subject to again show their fashion decisions

For my architecture theme:

  • a shot of the Hilton hotel in Deansgate, Manchester. I will experiment with different angles and look nearer the time at what the best time of day will be to take pictures of the building
  • Calatrava’s Trinity Bridge – a shot of this from the centre of the bridge from the Manchester side of the bridge, to show the symmetry and design

For my night time theme:

  • a wide shot of Manchester from the top of Salford New Bailey Car Park
